Matthew L Jobe owns and operates the C BAR J Ranch in Windsor, Missouri with his wife Angie. Matthew is a Missouri native and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served his country with five overseas tours and earned numerous awards and medals.
At their facility they board and train horses, give riding lessons, and teach clinics. Matthew also has a small cow/calf operation and grazes contract cattle during the year. He is also a skilled welder, poviding custom welding on horse pens and cattle corrals. His specialty is working with horses and teaching people how to communicate with them. Matthew is known for helping horses with their people problems. Paying close attention to what the horse has to say. He says, “The horse knows way more about being a horse than I do. We must be still and listen to what they have to say.”
He is passionate about continuing his own education and is always striving to improve his riding, teaching, and training. He continues to learn from other top-notch trainers. “If your trainer doesn’t have a trainer, then you need a new trainer.” is a quote he is often known to say.
Matthew has competed successfully in the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting and Extreme Cowboy Racing. He has earned several World, National, regional and State titles the last few years, to include 2022 2d Futurity World Champion, 2021 USMS World Champion, 2021 Professional Armed Forces Rodeo World Champion, 2018 CMSA M4 National Champion, 2017 AHCA National Finals Reserve Champion, 2016 MSP World Champion, 2016 AHCA Missouri State Champion, 2015 EXCA Mid-Central Champion, and 2015 EXCA Kansas State Champion.

What to Expect
During our 3 day horsemanship clinic we will focus on what our horses need. We will change us, so we can improve our horse. We will utilize games, obstacles, and teamwork to building better horses. It doesn't matter your goals or discipline, this clinic will help you get going in the right direction! This clinic is for all types of riders. We will meet you at your level. You will leave tired, with a better horse!
Here are some of the topics we will cover:
🌟 Groundwork Essentials:
- Warm-up exercises to engage your horse mentally and physically
- Learn techniques to achieve full-body control, including forward, backward, yielding front and hind quarters, and moving shoulders, hips, and ribcage
- Build respect and partnership on the ground
🌟 Riding Fundamentals:
- Apply groundwork principles in the saddle to develop connection, control, and responsiveness
- Practice exercises to enhance communication between horse and rider, tailored to your skill level and goals
🌟 Obstacles:
- Introduce your horse to obstacles in a safe and supportive environment
- Build trust and confidence as you work through individual obstacles and exercises designed to improve control and problem-solving
- Combine your skills in fun and challenging games, including full obstacle courses, to test teamwork and progress
🌟 Problem-Solving & Custom Guidance:
- Bring your specific challenges or goals to the clinician, who will incorporate them into sessions for personalized support
- Focus on learning how to "speak your horse's language" to strengthen your partnership and overcome obstacles together

The clinic will be help at the beautiful 4Rocks arena in Delevan, IL. 4Rocks arena offers a Large Heated, Indoor Facility with great Footing and Stalls. Camping is available On-Site with Electric Hook Ups (30 amps). We will start at 9am each day and ride until we break for lunch. After lunch, we'll resume and ride until we're tired!!
Price: $595 per Rider
Stalls: $25 per day
Shavings: $25 (optional)
Lunch: $60 per Person (for all three days - optional)
Stall Cleaning Fee: $25 per stall (For your stall to be stripped at the end of the clinic - optional)
Camping (on site): $25 per night (30amp electric - optional)
Upon registering, the total price is due immediately to reserve your spot. All participants will be required to sign a waiver and submit proof of current coggins, and health papers (if traveling from out of state).
Cancellation Policy: Non-Refundable, unless cancelled by the organizer.
