Unlocking the Horse’s Mind with Mark Jenkins

Meet Mark Jenkins
With nearly three decades of experience, Mark Jenkins is a horseman and clinician who brings a lifetime of knowledge—and a whole lot of heart—to every clinic he teaches. From starting out with ranch horses to training performance horses like cow horses and reiners, Mark’s journey has been rooted in one simple goal: understanding the horse.
For the last 20 years, he’s dedicated himself to studying the psychology of the horse, unlocking the key to clearer communication between horse and rider. Mark has an uncanny ability to read both horses and people, helping riders recognize what their horse is thinking, feeling, and trying to say.
His philosophy? Always keep the horse in mind.
“If you don't understand how a horse interprets information, then how can you expect them to learn what you're trying to teach?”
Mark believes that real progress comes not from expecting the horse to understand us—but from learning how the horse thinks and sees the world. His ability to simplify even the most complex training issues and relay that information in a way that just clicks is what makes his clinics truly unforgettable.
He’s been featured on RFD-TV, The Cowboy Channel, and Better Horses TV, but his favorite place to be is right there in the arena—helping everyday riders build better partnerships with their horses. Mark works hands-on with every horse and handler, guiding you with insight, encouragement, and a touch of humor along the way.
If you're ready to change your mindset, your horse just might change with you.

This isn’t your average horsemanship clinic—it’s an opportunity to dig deep into the why behind your horse’s behavior and truly learn how to communicate with clarity and confidence.
At the heart of this clinic are the timeless principles of horsemanship: Pressure and Release, and Timing and Feel. Whether your horse is dealing with big issues or subtle resistance, chances are it’s due to unclear signals. That’s where Mark steps in.
You’ll learn how to:
• Understand when and how to release pressure to reward the right response
• Improve your timing and develop that all-important feel
• See the world through your horse’s eyes—what they feel, what they fear, and how they interpret your cues
• Build a stronger, more trusting partnership
Mark works hands-on with every horse and handler, helping you apply the techniques in real time so you leave with tools you can use at home. If you’ve ever wondered what your horse is trying to tell you—this clinic will help you finally hear them loud and clear.
